About Me:

Alison is a Clinical Nurse Specialist with a 30-year career in NHS and private mental health services, supporting both children and adults. Her work has taken her as far afield as Australia and across a wide range of settings, including Acute Psychiatry, Eating Disorders services, Psychotherapy Services, and Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). This breadth of experience gives her a strong foundation for assessing and supporting autistic individuals.

Make an appointment

1. Initial Consultation – A chance to discuss your concerns with an autism clinician, explore whether an assessment is appropriate, and provide some brief background.

2. Neuro-developmental History – A 60–90 minute appointment to gather a detailed history, including current concerns, developmental background, medical and psychiatric history, and observation of ASD traits, school reports. If further assessment is not recommended or not desired, a detailed summary letter can be provided.

3. Formal ASD Assessment (ADOS-2) – Around 90 minutes using the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2), carried out by two clinicians – multidisciplinary team (Clinical Nurse Specialist, Speech and Language Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Psychology or specialist CAMHS clinician for children).

4. Feedback & Report – A feedback session to discuss diagnosis (if applicable), recommendations, onward referrals, and support options. A detailed report, including ADOS-2 results, will be sent within 14 working days.

5. Further appointments – on request, inc post diagnostic support, Psychotherapies.

Session 1- Face to face or Video call initial appointment (30 min) – £95

Session 2 – Initial Assessment, history taking, questionnaires with autism clinician and report formulated. 

Session 3 -ADOS-2 Administration, Questionnaires & Scoring, (2 clinicians for ADOS-2), feedback and full comprehensive report provided. 

Total Cost of Full Autism Assessment (sessions 2 & 3 combined) for children and adults. – £1,999

Alison holds qualifications in Psychotherapy, Counselling, Family Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Motivational
Enhancement and has undertaken further training in neuro-developmental conditions and autism assessment (ADOS-2, ADI-R, DIVA-5).

This enables her to provide comprehensive assessments and tailored support for autistic people and their families. She has a particular interest in autism in late diagnosed adults and women and
girls, as well as expertise in recognising and addressing eating disorder presentations among autistic individuals. Her rare combination of experience across all age groups makes her approach unique.

Alison works alongside a team of associate clinicians to provide high-quality autism assessments. This is multidisciplinary in nature and may include Psychology, Speech and Language therapist and or Occupational Therapists.
