About Me:

Allan G Thomson is an Advanced Practice Podiatrist with over 25 years of experience in the NHS, private practice, and higher education. Over the past decade, he has taught and mentored podiatrists across the UK, helping shape the next generation of advanced practitioners.

This specialist consultation is designed for patients with complex or persistent foot and ankle conditions, including:

  • Bunions and big toe joint arthritis
  • Morton’s neuroma
  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Tendon problems
  • Unexplained forefoot or midfoot pain
  • Diagnostic clarification following imaging or referral
  • Second opinion prior to surgery or injection therapy

Consultation charge: £150
Appointment length: 45 minutes

The consultation fee includes the ultrasound scan of one structure, if required.
Please note that this fee DOES NOT include injection therapies or other treatments.

*Important:
This is a specialist consultation aimed at clarifying diagnosis, exploring treatment pathways, and supporting informed decision-making.
It is not a routine podiatry appointment (e.g. for nail care or simple foot treatments).

Your appointment may include one of the following:

  • Focused assessment: A detailed evaluation of a specific issue, including a targeted diagnostic ultrasound scan of one structure (if clinically indicated).
  • Comprehensive review: A broader assessment and discussion of your foot health, symptoms, and potential treatment options.

Having spent more than 10 years working as an Extended Scope Practitioner within an orthopaedic foot surgery department, Allan offers in-depth understanding of both surgical and non-surgical pathways. He regularly supports patients seeking clarity around their diagnosis, treatment options, and realistic outcomes from surgery.

As Allan does not perform surgical procedures himself, his guidance is entirely impartial — helping patients make confident, informed decisions that reflect their goals, lifestyle, and long-term wellbeing.
